Double Marker combines AI Comparative Judgement with targeted teacher marking. Your pupils get marks on the exam board scale and rich diagnostic feedback, while each teacher marks only a small sample of scripts.

Why are schools using Double Marker?
A fraction of the workload
Marking is shared out question by question rather than paper by paper, so each teacher marks around 6 to 7 scripts instead of their whole cohort.
No more trade-off
Comparative Judgement is highly reliable but doesn't use a mark scheme. Traditional marking follows the mark scheme but is inconsistent and time-consuming. Double Marker gives you both.
Comparable across schools
A central moderation sample places every participating school on a single, unified scale, so results mean the same thing across your trust and the wider cohort.
Two markers, one reliable result
Every script is marked twice: once holistically by AI, and once — for a targeted sample — by a teacher using the exam board mark scheme.
AI Comparative Judgement
Every pupil script is judged holistically by AI using Comparative Judgement, producing a highly reliable rank order and relative scale.
The human teacher
Teachers mark a small, carefully selected sample of questions online using the standard exam board mark scheme, without seeing the AI results.
Rescaling and optimisation
We calibrate the AI scale against the teacher marks, removing any overall harshness or generosity and mapping every score onto the real GCSE mark scale (for example, 0–40).
Scale alignment and quality assurance
Your school's scale
Each school's scripts are first judged independently to place them on their own relative scale.
Unified cohort scaling
We judge a 20% sample of scripts from every participating school against one another. This anchors every school to a single, unified scale.
Flags and overrides
If a teacher's mark differs sharply from the AI score, it is flagged automatically. A Senior Marker has final authority to review the script and override any AI-derived mark.

Your school names a single Super User to handle logistics.
CSV upload
Upload your pupil data using our CSV template.
Booklet creation
We create personalised, print-ready PDF booklets.
Phase 2
Administration and scanning
Administration
Print the booklets. Pupils sit the mock and write their answers in them.
Scanning
Remove the spines and scan in small batches of around 4 pupils per file.
Scan verification
Upload your scans and we confirm that every one has arrived.
Phase 3
AI and marker setup
AI processing
Transcription, automated judging and structural checks (2 working days).
Marker setup
Your Super User adds your marking teachers, who are invited to create accounts.
Allocation creation
We allocate questions to teachers and let them know marking can begin.
Phase 4
Marking and delivery
Marking period
Teachers mark their allocated questions online (5 working days).
Results and feedback
We scale, calibrate and quality-check the marks, then deliver scores and feedback (2 working days).
Rich diagnostic feedback
Within two weeks of the mock, you receive a full suite of data-driven reports.
Pupil level
Standardised marks and detailed AI diagnostic feedback on each pupil's individual question responses.
Class and school level
Aggregated results showing strengths and areas for development across classes and the whole school.
Cohort and trust level
Overview reports across your trust, plus Examiner Reports summarising performance across all participating schools.
Data protection, security and GDPR
Your school stays in control
Under UK GDPR your school is the Data Controller and No More Marking is the Data Processor.
Your pupil data is never used to train AI models
Pupil data and scanned scripts are stored on Amazon Web Services S3 in Ireland, and our database is hosted on MongoDB Atlas in Ireland.
Enterprise-grade AI partners
Every AI sub-processor is bound by the same GDPR obligations, and our AI providers are prohibited from training models on your data.
Delete at any time
Deleting a task immediately removes all its pupil data and images. You can also request full erasure by emailing support@nomoremarking.com, completed within 5 working days.
